The Best Co-Star Alternative: Free Quizzes, No Monthly Fee

If you are looking for a Co-Star alternative, here is the short answer: WitchyLili gives you free zodiac quizzes and long, written readings for a one-time price — no app to download, no subscription to cancel, and no exact birth time required.

Co-Star is brilliant at one thing: a sleek astrology app with short, punchy daily messages. But if you have started searching for alternatives, you probably already know the three reasons people leave: the recurring subscription, the demand for your exact birth time, and the feeling that the readings never go deep enough.

WitchyLili is built the opposite way. Everything is free to play, in your browser, on any device. When you want the full picture, you pay once — and the 2,000-word reading is yours forever.

1. The subscription adds up. Co-Star's deeper features sit behind a recurring monthly subscription. For casual users who just want their zodiac fix, paying month after month gets old fast.

2. It demands your exact birth time. To build your natal chart, Co-Star asks for your exact birth date, time and place. Millions of people simply do not know their birth time — and they are locked out of half the app.

3. The readings stay short. Co-Star's style is cryptic, one-line pushes. Fun to read, but thin when you actually want to understand a career move, a relationship pattern, or your year ahead.

4. It is an app. That means downloading, updating, notifications, and a home-screen icon you eventually delete. A browser-based alternative like WitchyLili is simply easier.

No monthly bill, ever. The math is simple. A subscription charges you every single month whether you open the app or not. At WitchyLili, quizzes are free forever, and a full reading costs less than one month of most astrology subscriptions — paid once.

Your birthday is enough. No birth time, no birth place, no digging through old paperwork. Most WitchyLili quizzes need only your birthday; many need nothing but ten honest answers.

Depth you can actually read. Instead of a cryptic line, you get a full written reading — your strengths, your blind spots, and practical guidance, in plain language. The 2027 annual reports go month by month through your whole year.

Works anywhere, instantly. Phone, tablet, laptop — open the link, take the quiz, see your result. There is nothing to install and nothing to update.

Let us do the math. A recurring subscription charges you twelve times a year — whether you open the app twice or every day. By the end of the year that is a dozen payments for content you can never keep. Even one single month of most astrology subscriptions costs more than the entire WitchyLili price of $1.99–$4.99.

Then come the hidden costs of subscriptions: forgetting to cancel, the renewal charge that surprises you, the refund email you have to write. One-time pricing removes all of it. You decide once, you pay once, and the reading is yours — not rented from a plan you have to maintain.

This is not about disliking subscriptions in general. It is about matching the product to the need. If you check astrology twice a month, a monthly fee is pure waste. A browser-based quiz site with one-time readings fits casual, curious people far better than a subscription app.

This comparison is for you if you:

• Are tired of paying for an astrology app you barely open.
• Do not know your exact birth time and keep hitting paywalls because of it.
• Want a real written reading, not a one-line quip.
• Prefer playing in your browser to downloading another app.
• Love quizzes — zodiac, tarot, aura, numerology — and want them all in one place.
